Friends of Acker Park & Master Gardeners
(University of Arizona Extention Service), have teamed up and are developing a plant identification system that can be utilized almost anywhere in Yavapai County (and beyond),
using QR codes (Quick Response Codes).
QR codes utilize the modern cell phone's capability to instantly recognize A QR pattern and instantly link it to a URL web site.
Therefore we are starting with woody plants in Acker Park as our Beta Test of this process.
We are using three informational resources for this Project:
The Yavapai County Master Gardner/UofA Extention Service
iNaturalist
Woody Plants of the Mogollon Highlands
by Carl and Joan Tomoff.
This very easy to use,
and very educational field guide is highly recommended,
and can be purchased At;
Natural History Institute
Perigrine Book Store
